Hey y'all!Just popping in to share a few Friday favorites with you, one of which is this cute stripe open shoulder top from The Belle Boutique. It's super soft and has enough length on it that you could do a little side knot or just wear it longer with leggings. They are offering 20% off for my followers when you use code HELLO20 so be sure to check them out! A few other favorites I wanted to share are the Beauty Blender I talked about on my insta stories this week. This thing really is worth all the hype! I was so skeptical but it's the first thing I've used that gives a smooth finish without soaking up all your foundation. I love it!I also tried this green concealer for the first time this week and am obsessed. It's perfect for redness or breakouts because it neutralizes that area. It's super affordable, too! Today has been CRAZY but I've loved every minute! Tomorrow we've got a birthday party in the morning and then I'm headed to finalize the design for a huge client house reveal. Stay tuned for the finished product. I'm hoping I'll be able to sneak away with Matt for a date tomorrow night. With all the craziness of this week and weekend, we could really use it!Hope y'all have and awesome Friday and just the best weekend!!
Spring Shoes Trends
Spanish factory workers in the thirteenth century used to burn and braid a plant called esparto to make the soles of their shoes. They employed seamstresses to use a linen fabric to create the heal and toe and began selling the shoes to anyone from military personnel to members of the clergy. The process of making espadrilles evolved thru the centuries til the early 1960's when a wildly famous designer, Yves St-Laurent, asked for an espadrille with a heel. The rest, as they say, is history!Nerd alert. If you want to read more about the history of these cutie shoes, you can go here. If you want to read more about some of my favorite styles of espadrilles with varying price points, keep reading below! If you've followed me on instagram for more than a minute, then you've seen that I wear the heck out of these Mark Fisher Espadrilles. First of all, they go with everything... dresses, cut off shorts, rompers, crop jeans. I could keep going. Secondly, they are very comfortable. I read quite a few reviews before purchasing and the general consensus was that the comfort level is solid but I did want to see for myself. I am now totally convinced! I wore them all day on Sunday and was completely fine. Not thrilled about the price point on the Mark Fishers? These Steve Madden Espadrilles look very similar but they're less than half the cost. I can't give any reviews on these because I haven't gotten to try them yet. But the people I know who've gotten them have liked them so far! And for the price, you can't beat it.I'm really loving all the ankle tie flats and wedges I'm seeing for Spring! These Black Steve Madden Ankle Tie Espadrilles are next on my list of shoes to buy followed up with the most adorable Vince Camuto Bow Back Espadrilles. ALL the heart eyes for the bow detail on the back.I don't wear wedges all the time, so I also like having a cute pair of flats to throw on and these Strappy Flat Sandals from Target are literal perfection. They kind of look like something Joanna Gaines would wear, which (duh!) makes me love them just that much more! You can find all the options I talked about in today's post below. The Mark Fisher pair that I have are out of stock already at Nordstrom but they do have them in stock at Zappos![showshopthepostwidget id="2446960"]

Neck Tie Top + Spring Cleaning Tips
Happy Friday! Today's post is all about this sweet neck tie blouse I styled from Shop Fancy Free Boutique. Working with this company was such a fun experience. Not only are they fast and affordable, but they also have an awesome selection of Spring styles available! I have a black sleeveless dress I plan to wear over this to dress it up a bit. I also think it would look so cute tucked into a flared black skirt.

I've had Spring cleaning on the brain since the weather has been nice and I'm pretty much always itching to de-clutter. I wanted to share a few simple tips I keep in mind to avoid it turning into a totally overwhelming process! Keep the end goal in mind: When you're planning to clean stuff out, you also want to plan to get rid of said stuff. Unfortunately moving stuff around without getting rid of anything will leave you in the same spot as you were before . The end goal is to simplify so as you start, go ahead and plan to take a trip to Goodwill with all the things you no longer need or use.Simplify first, clean later: It's tempting to see the dust and think you need to clean your whole house before you begin to get rid of anything, but getting rid of stuff will stir up the dust even more so save the cleaning til later. Chances are, you'll end up with less to clean!Organize into piles: I organize my piles into what I'm keeping, what I'm throwing away, and what I'm going to donate. If it's something I haven't used and I know no one else will want it, I toss it. If it's something I think someone else might love, I donate it. If it's something I'm going to keep, I have to make sure I have a place for it! Once I've thrown away the junk and donated the excess, I organize what is going to stay. I hope these tips are helpful for you to simplify your space and simplify your life! If you're like me, you know a clean space is a happy space. So here's to living in happy spaces! Much love!Date Night Fun!
Hey y'all! So excited to be able to not only share this CUTE cold shoulder ruffle romper, but also to give y'all some fun ideas of how to keep your date nights fresh and fun! This black romper from ASOS has the cutest ruffle detail around the open shoulder. It's collared at the top and the buttons down to the waist. The shorts are kind of open and fold over on the side so it just gives great movement without showing too much skin! I'm thinking about pairing this with a gold metallic belt to dress it up even more. You'll notice if you go to the link that this is considered "tall" sizing. Well, I'm 5'7" and it's obviously not long on me!

Matt and I have always been pretty consistent "daters". We love hanging out so date night is one of our favorite times of the week! We put our phones down and just talk to each other and it's just what we need to get back on the same page. One thing Matt has always been great at is asking questions. It's tempting to feel like you know everything about each other after you've been together for a while. Believe me, I know! I've known Matt since middle school and we've been together since high school. That's a lotta time yet I'm still finding out things about him that I didn't know.We rarely ever ask questions like "How was your week?" because it's too open ended. We like to get specific and normally like to stick with questions that lead to responses that will make us both laugh and will help us to learn something new about each other. Here's an example of some of the questions we ask.The house is on fire, the kids are safe, but you have time to run back in and grab one more thing. What would it be?What was your favorite outfit to wear when you were in elementary school? If you could hop on a plain tomorrow and go anywhere, where would you go?Who was your favorite teacher and why?If you could change anything about our wedding, what would it be?When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?Have you ever broken a bone? What was it and how? What was your favorite meal to eat when you were a kid?Did you have an imaginary friend? What was their name?Did you parents have a nickname for you? What was your favorite gift I ever gave you? What was one thing you asked for for Christmas that you never got? These are just a few of the questions we have come up with in the past and amazingly enough we are always coming up with more.I think one of the best ways to rut-proof your relationship is to be a student of your spouse/significant other. Always be trying to learn about their history. What has made them who they are today? You may know a lot already but you don't know it all. Most importantly, just keep dating each other. Even if it means you just have talk time after the kids go to bed because you can't afford a babysitter. Turn off the TV. Put down the phone. And look at each other. You just never know what fun new things you can learn about each other when you start asking questions!
