Hiiiiii!!!!!!!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done an activewear roundup! I thought beginning of February when those New Year’s fitness goals are weaning would be the perfect time to get cute so we can keep getting FIT.

Everything I’ve found for today’s post is from Walmart. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from being an avid Walmart shopper, it’s that when you find something you like, you better act fast because their stuff sells FAST. Last I checked, everything I’m sharing is fully stocked so that’s good news!

I got my normal size small in everything I tried and will be doing a full roundup of everything linked below in stories.

Don't Throw Away The Rug

One of my refocus points of this year is to make this blog space more than just sharing the things… Don’t get me wrong, I will still SHARE THE THINGS ;-) but this kind of post is going to become more common so I hope you’re here for it.

Yesterday I woke up late and rushed to get Bailey. I was already too late and had a mess to clean up in his crate. Poor buddy. I felt so bad! I took him downstairs and put him on the floor so I could put on my jacket before going out in the rain. Rookie move. As soon as I got one arm in, he skeedaddled his little self on over to my BRAND NEW WHITE RUG and squatted down… you can guess what happened next.

I slow motion ran my one arm jacketed self over while saying noooooooooo but it was for sure too late. He looked at me with panicked eyes and I picked him up and took him outside.

After a very short trip outside (most of his business had already been previously conducted, after all), I put him down to eat his breakfast and I went to clean the stain out of the rug. Thankfully Folex got it right now. Blessings and AMEN.

But as I was scrubbing the brown stain out of the rug, I had this thought: “What if I just saw the mess and instead of cleaning it up, I rolled up the rug and tossed it”?

That would be silly, not to mention Matt would probably murder me.

BUT…..

That’s what we do with our lives sometimes. A mess of one form or another gets made and our first thought is “Ugh, this is such a bad day.” One of my favorite phrases is that bad moments don’t make bad days. Bad moments are going to happen but just like the stained rug, we can respond by taking a minute, cleaning up the remains, and going on our merry way.

The trouble that most of us have is that we just want to sit in the mess and stare at it. Allowing messes all day long to steal our joy. It’s ok to work through the mess, in fact, it’s super healthy to do that.

Take your time processing through the moments that bring you down so you can work through them then WALK through them. You gotta keep going, sister.

I like to remind myself to put a parenthesis around bad moments and an exclamation mark at the end of the good.

Life is all about perspective and we’ve been given this GREAT power to choose our response, but most of us rarely tap into that. We walk around like helpless victims of our circumstances, but we are not that.

Don’t give away your joy just because it’s surrounded by a mess. There’s beauty even in the mess, sweet friend. You just gotta find it.

So for the sake of all that’s good, don’t let a little mess cause you to throw away the whole rug. Don’t let a little moment throw away the whole day.

I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. 2019 Top Ten Follower Favorites

Literally still feels SO weird to be writing 2020 but I guess I’ve still got about 11 months to get used to it.

Today I’m sharing the Top Ten follower favorites from last year and I’ll be telling you a little bit about why I have loved each item!

10. Silk Pillowcase: I told y’all the story not too long ago about how I spent $100 on a silk pillowcase because ERRYBODY told me it was amazing. Then I found this $20 one on amazon prime and gave it a shot. You Guys. I literally can’t even tell the difference between the two unless I look at the tag. There are a lot of options on amazon so be sure you get the one linked above!

9. Steamer: I can’t even tell you how happy it makes me to NOT have to iron anymore! This steamer is perfect for travel but I also use it for all our at home needs. A few tips to keep in mind about this steamer is that when you fill with water, be sure you let it to boil for a bit before you use it and don’t tip it when using.

8. Faux Leather Leggings: You guys went nuts over these faux leather leggings and for GOOD reason. They look SOOOO much like the SPANX faux leather leggings and the primary difference is that these have a little less compression. If you’re looking for the same look and feel as SPANX but only want to spend $16, go for these! Get your true size.

7. Workout Leggings: These amazon workout leggings are buttery soft, so comfortable, have great support, AND are $20. CanNOT recommend these enough!

6. One Piece Bathing Suit: I have to tell you that I have a very hate/hate relationship with one piece bathing suits. I’ve never felt that they fit my body style and not to mention that we were REQUIRED to wear them when we were younger. SO there’s that. When I tried this one, it made me feel like a million bucks and also made me take back every ugly thing I’ve ever said about one piece swimwear. It’s supportive, affordable, great booty coverage, and feels great. It comes in a few other colors and I have all of them. Go with your normal size and if you are wearing it with a baby bump, just size up one!

5. Everyday Leggings: If you’re in the market for insanely comfortable everyday leggings (these aren’t for working out!), then these are for you. They are supportive but VERY lightweight. As in, you pretty much feel like you aren’t wearing pants. Go with your normal size in these and keep in mind that when they arrive, they will look SUPER small. Don’t send them back until you actually try them on because they stretch to fit.

4. Two Pack Wireless Ear Buds: I tried these in November and couldn’t believe the price for the quality. For $119, you get TWO sets of the wireless head phones. One will be black and one will be rose gold. These are so awesome, y’all.

3. Knee Boots: These $39 knee boots are incredibly comfortable and super chic. They have been sold out for a really long time but they were just restocked in sizes 7-11! They are true to size and I’m wearing the taupe color.

2. SHEETS: THEEEEEE bed sheets came in at the top of the list of follower favorites for the whole year! They are soooooo comfy, y’all. Also very affordable!

1. Butter Pants: No one is surprised by this. Ha! Literally the number one best selling item and MOST highly reviewed from all my instagram friends. I’m not even exaggerating, I get so excited to put these on at the end of the day… or let’s be honest, at the beginning of the day and then wear them til the end of the day. If in between sizes, go down!
