J Crew Spring 50% Off Sale

Hi!I hope you've had a great weekend! I got to do a little shopping yesterday and as luck would have it, I stumbled upon the J Crew Factory Store having a 50% off sale. The Spring styles they have in store are just darling. Think stripes, prints, ruffles, and scallops and you'll get the general idea of all the goodness in store.I've rounded up just a few of my favorites for y'all. Some of the sizing is a little different than my usual J Crew sizing so be sure to attention to that! Wearing a small in this cute off the shoulder top but the shorts definitely run a little smaller than normal J Crew Factory shorts. I sized up just for reference! Even with the wrinkles, this button up dress is SO cute! I love the bright color and the way it slightly cinches at the waistline does your figure some favors.  Absolutely in love with these scalloped edge shorts! They come in a few different colors and I kind of wanted all of them. They paired especially well with this cute ruffled top. I'm feeling like there are about 25 different ways I could wear this skirt this Spring. And this stripe blazer is light weight enough to wear even when it warms up. I really like the tailored fit and I mean, come on, those STRIPES are everything. Love the color of this popover sweater but it also comes in a ton of different colors, too! Here's the white in the scalloped shorts. You'll want to size up one in these too. It's tough to tell in this picture, but this button down has a light pink stripe on it. Yes, please! This top was probably my favorite of all the ones I tried on. The wide stripe is so fun and I think it would be SO cute with some white skinny jeans. I've linked everything below but if you have any questions about anything I tried on, let me know!Hope you have a great night!!! [showshopthepostwidget id="2505716"]

What you need to know about Like To Know It

Friends! Hi!Are you so pumped it's Friday? We don't have any plans this weekend and I'm just so thrilled about it. Hopefully that will mean lots of chill time with our girlies... and Mexican. Always Mexican (insert praise hands emoji).Ok so I have been meaning to write this post for a reeeeeally long time and I'm just now getting around to it. I know most of you are probably familiar with Like To Know It but some of you might just think of it as annoying scrambled letters that always end up at the end of my Instagram posts. Yeah, sorry about that. I'm here to answer your questions and just give you a basic understanding of what it is, why you might use it, and how I incorporate it as an integral part of my styling business.I'll go ahead and start with the basics so we can all be on the same page: Like To Know It is a service that you sign up for by giving your email and then any time you "like" a picture on Insta that's affiliated with LTK, you will get in an email within a few minutes that contains all the items being worn in the picture in clickable links so if you want to buy it yourself, there it is! Takes you straight to the retailers site.LTK just took things to the next level by introducing the app, which actually makes things even easier. Now you just take a screen shot and all the items in the picture appear in your app so you can find them there. So maybe you're wondering to yourself why bloggers and style influencers use this service. The reason is because LTK is what's known as a monetization platform, which basically just means a way to be compensated. Back in the day, if you wanted to work with a stylist, you'd meet them at a store and the stylist would receive a commission from the retailer for whatever you bought. The stylist brought you to the store and gave you the ideas of what would look good on you, so a commission just makes sense. This way, everyone wins!Another way to look at it: Say you walk into Nordstrom and you see a model wearing a blazer, stripe tee, distressed denim, and some cute sliders. You ask a store associate where the sliders are located. Once you get to the right department, someone helps find your size and might even give a few recommendations of how you could style the shoes. You go to the checkout counter and someone rings up your purchase. You pay and leave. Every single person involved in your purchase is compensated. You wouldn't expect any of those people to work for free because they're all playing some role in the transaction. Like To Know It helps to ensure that the stylist is compensated for their part in the transaction. Without this platform, the influencer would be totally missed in the process of compensating for involvement in the transaction.LTK really is the modern day version of hiring a stylist. Rather than meeting at a store, you follow along on social media. You see something you love, you make a purchase, and the stylist/blogger/incfluencer gets a commission. It's really a great set up!Not only does the LTK platform make it so easy for you to find what you're looking for, but it sets up a system that rewards all those involved.Ok, now that we've covered the basics, let's hit on some frequently asked questions:

Why Can't I Click on the "link" in your instagram?

When I say I am "linking" an item, it doesn't actually mean it's a hyperlink that you can click on to take you directly to the site. Instagram doesn't allow that. What I'm really doing is answering the "Where'd you get that" question before it's even asked. All the seemingly jumbled up letters at the end of my instagram posts are just necessary for the back end portion of LTK. So the "links" are actually just enabling the photo to work with LTK. The purpose is really just to let you know that what I'm wearing is ready to view and shop if you're signed up with LTK.

Why Don't You Just Tell Us Where It's From?

Ok, so this one is something I get asked about a lot. I know people are well-meaning when they say "where did you get this top" but what I think most people don't understand (and rightfully so!) is alllllll the work that goes into not only putting together these looks, but also linking up every single item. This is a very time consuming process. I don't say that to complain, but just to educate that a lot more goes into this than just taking an ootd and posting a picture. I've tried to make the process of letting you know about what I'm wearing as easy as possible. Using LTK isn't just for my benefit, but it makes it so much easier for you as the consumer to be able to find exactly what you're looking for without any of the guess work.So if you ever feel like a blogger is being sassy when they respond to your "where'd you get that?" with "I linked it all", it's really just our attempt at saying "Hey, I did all the work for ya to try to make it easy!" I do realize that sometimes people can't get their LTK to work and I'm always willing to do whatever I can to help you find what you're looking for. I just hope you know from the bottom of my heart that it's never ever my intention to make this process more difficult for you! It's actually just the opposite!

What If I Don't Wanna Sign Up With Like To Know It?

I have a place on my blog under Shop My Looks where you can easily find links to whatever I'm posting without having to sign up for anything. I was a user of LTK before I was even in the blogging/styling world and I always loved it, but I totally understand that some people just don't like signing up for things. So this way you should be able to get all the info you need.I hope this answers some of the questions you've had about Like To Know It! If you'd "Like To Know" (sorry, couldn't help myself) anything that I didn't cover, please comment and I'll answer you there!I know I say this a lot but I just hope you know how much I truly appreciate every single one of who follow on insta, read my blog, like, comment, and just show up to support this dream of mine. You guys really are the BEST!All my love!

Recent Purchases + What I'm Buying Next

I have been swooning big time over SO many of the new Spring styles out recently! Y'all. Just so much goodness!I normally have a pretty wide variety of price points that I shop within. If you would have asked me two years ago what my max I would spend on any one item would be, I probably would have said like $50. I used to prefer to see how far I could possibly stretch my clothing budget each month, but I ended up with a closet full of great deals that I never really wanted to wear. Not a fun predicament to be in! Within the last year, I've started really focusing on quality where it counts (like in shoes and denim!). Don't get me wrong, I still love me a good sale, but I'm also finding that spending a little more on something you love goes a long way. That being said, I wanted to share a few of my recent purchases that I'm really loving with y'all. It's always my goal to show the affordable side of fashion but that can be very subjective depending on who you're talking to. We all have different budgets we are working with and my chosen styles are all across the board! I hope that's helpful for y'all to know as you follow along on my styling journey. I get just as excited about a steal of a deal as I do about a more expensive style that I've been saving for and know that I'll keep for a long time!

Recent Purchases:

These Mark Fisher shoes have been heavy hitters since I first took them out of the box. They're really comfortable. Like really comfortable. I know there are definitely quite a few dupes out there, but what I've heard from friends who've gotten the less expensive versions, is that they're very uncomfortable. I think with these it's worth it to spring for the real thing.[showshopthepostwidget id="2496668"]The Jeffrey Canpbell wedges are giving me life right now. I wanted something a little more on the neutral side but I also love the design and texture of these. So much going on in such a good way! These are also really comfortable, so that's a definite plus.[showshopthepostwidget id="2496632"]I have been wearing the heck out of these flats from Target. I wore them all over Magnolia Market last weekend and they never gave me any trouble. They're less than $25 and come in two other colors! Sizes are limited online but you can still find them in the stores.[showshopthepostwidget id="2496639"]These dark wash skinny jeans from The Loft are my absolute FAVORITE pair of jeans I've ever had on. The fit is perfect (true to size). The color is just right. The price is great at under $70 and if you watch, they'll for sure go on sale. Gotta love The Loft's 40% off sales! I can't say enough about how much I love these jeans. If you're looking for a structured pair of skinnies in a darker wash, look no further. I got you.[showshopthepostwidget id="2496640"]I absolutely love this maxi dress I recently got for our trip to Texas. It's just perfectly flowy and has a cool boho vibe about it. It's less than $35, which makes me like it even better![showshopthepostwidget id="2496647"]Speaking of our trip to Texas, I also wore this cutie top that is literally the most perfect Spring transition piece! I wore it with cut off shorts in Texas and high wasted jeans before I left. Looked so cute with both![showshopthepostwidget id="2496648"]Finally, if you missed my insta stories about my suitcase being on sale, here it is!![showshopthepostwidget id="2496664"]

What I've Got My Eye On:

I've got a good amount of neutral wedges for Spring and Summer but I really need a good pair in black. Considering these. What do y'all think?[showshopthepostwidget id="2496655"]I have been wearing the heck out of monogrammed necklace so I'm thinking now I want to add this acrylic mono to the collection.[showshopthepostwidget id="2496659"]Finally, I've been eyeing these jackets for a really long time and I'm thinking maybe it's time to take the plunge. I've seen them styled SO many different ways and I think it might just be perfect for the last bit of chill we will have for a while.[showshopthepostwidget id="2496627"]
